Theseus

Theseus is a hero and son of Aegeus and Aethera. He is the one of the four hero's of Athens including Hercules, Perseus and Cademus. He is also the hero of Ionian. He is most famous for killing the Minotaur. He killed the Minotaur with either his sword, his club or his bare hands. He is called the great one for that. Theseus also killed a centaur with his club. Theseus was born on Athens because his dad was the king there.

Theseus's Powers

Theseus was a normal human being, except he was very strong and he had the power of persuasion. He was also a very, very good fighter and he was really good with a club and his sword. There are many different stories about how Theseus killed the Minotaur, on is that he used his sword, another is that he used his clubs and the last one is that he used his bare hands.

Symbol

Theseus' symbol is the sword. All though he also used a club to fight he mostly used a sword. He didn't use a shield very much, he just used a sword.

Places that Theseus is associated with

Theseus' dad was the king of Athens but then when he died Theseus became the king. He is also one of the heroes of Athens. He is also the hero of Ionian, but not the king there.

Modern day allusions

Theseus is one of the characters in the play by Shakespeare called a mid summers daydream.

Theseus and the Minotaur

King Minos would always attack Athens and they made a deal that if he sent seven boys and seven girls to Crete every nine years to be eaten by the Minotaur they would stop attacking them. But when they had to send them over. Prince Theseus was one of them and he went and killed the Minotaur.
